What comes with a key
- 60 requests a minute; 25 orders a day and 300 a month
- Batches of up to 50 properties (JSON or CSV), signed webhooks and idempotent ordering
- A white-label option: your company name on the PDF cover
- Usage counters and a revocation switch; every key action is audit-logged
A HeritageDeed report is a search of public records, not title insurance, a title commitment, an abstract certified by a licensed abstractor or a legal opinion. Reports may not be used for any purpose covered by the Fair Credit Reporting Act, such as deciding a person’s eligibility for credit, insurance, employment, housing or tenancy. See the API section of the Terms.
Questions
Is the API key free?
Yes. Keys are free. The reports ordered with them cost $49 (title) and $29 (environmental), or $25 a title report with prepaid credits, within 25 orders a day and 300 a month per key.
Why is the key shown only once?
HeritageDeed stores only a SHA-256 hash of each key, so nobody, including us, can read it back. Copy it into your secret store when it appears. If you lose it, revoke it and ask for a new one (up to three active keys per email).
Do I need to confirm my email?
When outbound email is switched on, the key is activated from a link sent to your address. Until then the key is shown on this page as soon as you ask for it.
How do I revoke a key?
Open it under Manage a key and press Revoke, or call DELETE /api/v1/account with the key. It stops working at once. Orders already placed still finish.
