Refund Policy
Last updated: October 3, 2026
A report is a digital product generated for you from live public records, so we refund based on whether we delivered what you paid for. The short version: if we can’t produce your report, you get your money back.
Full refund
You are entitled to a full refund if:
- your report is not delivered within 24 hours of your payment being confirmed;
- the search fails and we cannot produce a report for the property;
- we accepted an order for an address outside the coverage shown on our website;
- you were charged more than once for the same order; or
- the report is for a different property than the address you entered because of an error on our side (we can instead re-run it for the correct property, if you prefer).
Free re-run
If one of the sources listed in your report was unavailable when it ran, email us and we will re-run the report at no charge once the source is back. If the source stays unavailable for more than 7 days, you can choose a refund instead.
When we don’t refund
Once a complete report has been delivered we generally do not refund it because you changed your mind or because the public record contains information you did not expect, as the search has already been performed. We also can’t refund because of errors in the government records themselves; those must be corrected at the office that holds them. This does not affect any refund rights you have under applicable law.
How to ask
Email support@heritagedeed.com within 30 days of your order with your order number (shown on your order page and in your email) and a short description of the problem. We reply within three business days.
Approved refunds are issued through Creem, our merchant of record, to your original payment method. Depending on your bank they usually appear within 5–10 business days.
Chargebacks
Please contact us before disputing a charge with your bank; we can usually resolve the problem faster. A refund is issued in full, including any tax collected.
