Questions

What is a property title search?

A title search reviews the public records for a property to establish who owns it and what is recorded against it: the deed under which the owner holds title, mortgages and whether they were released, liens, judgments, lis pendens and unpaid taxes.

Why does HeritageDeed only cover certain counties?

Land records are kept county by county, in different systems. We only sell a search where we can read the official records reliably, and the order form checks an address before you pay.

How much does a title search cost?

$49 for a Current Owner Search, $79 for a Two Owner Search and $129 for a 30-Year Search, plus sales tax where it applies, with a full refund if we cannot deliver the report.
