Real estate title glossary
What is book and page?
Also called: OR book and page, liber and page
Definition
Book and page is the traditional citation for a recorded document: the volume of the county's record books and the page where it begins.
Many counties now assign an instrument or document number instead, but older documents and many releases still cite the book and page of the instrument they release.
How it shows up in a title search
Matching a release to its mortgage often depends on the book and page it cites; a release citing a different book and page releases a different loan.
