A Florida sale also pays documentary stamp tax of 70 cents per $100 on the deed, and a financed purchase pays 35 cents per $100 on the note plus the 0.2% intangible tax. The Florida closing cost calculator puts them together with the premium, recording fees and the seller's net; the doc stamp calculator shows the taxes alone.

Questions
How much is title insurance in Florida?
The promulgated risk premium is $5.75 per $1,000 of coverage up to $100,000 and $5.00 per $1,000 from $100,000 to $1 million. An owner's policy costs $575 on $100,000, $1,575 on $300,000, $2,075 on $400,000 and $5,075 on $1,000,000. Above $1 million the rate drops to $2.50, $2.25 and then $2.00 per $1,000.
How much is a lender's title policy in Florida?
Issued at the same time as the owner's policy on the same land, the rule sets the loan policy at a minimum of $25 for coverage up to the owner's amount, and the regular rate for any amount above it. On its own, for example on a refinance, a loan policy uses the same original rates as an owner's policy.
What is the Florida reissue rate?
A lower rate ($3.30 per $1,000 up to $100,000, $3.00 to $1 million) that applies up to the amount of a previous owner's policy, for example when the new policy is effective less than 3 years after the policy that insured the seller. Insurance above the prior amount is charged at the original rates. The agent and the underwriter must keep a copy of the prior policy.
What is the minimum title insurance premium in Florida?
$100 for an original owner's or loan policy (except multiple conveyances, $60), and $100 at the reissue rate.
How does Florida round the premium?
Rule 69O-186.003 counts any fraction of $100 of coverage as a full $100, then applies the rate per $1,000. A $400,050 policy is computed as $400,100.
Does the premium include the title agent's fees?
No. The rule sets the risk premium. Endorsements are priced under rule 69O-186.005, and the title search, examination and closing services are separate charges.
