HOA lookup by address

Enter a property address in Texas or Utah. The lookup searches the state's official HOA registry and lists the associations that match the address: in Texas, those registered with the Texas Real Estate Commission in the ZIP code, ranked by the subdivision name; in Utah, the registered associations that match the subdivision on the county parcel record or the community name you add.

Texas and Utah addresses, with the city and state. Adding the subdivision or community name ranks the list. The first 5 results of each list are free; HeritageDeed Pro shows them all.

Which states keep an HOA registry

Texas requires a property owners' association to record a management certificate in the county and to file it with the Texas Real Estate Commission within seven days; condominium associations do the same. The certificate names the association and the contact for it. The registry held 17,393 certificates as of 2026-10-20: 15,184 property owners' associations and 2,209 condominium associations.

Utah requires an association to register with the Department of Commerce within 90 days of recording its declaration and to renew every year, giving the board chair, the manager and a payoff contact for closings.

Most other states keep no registry. In Florida, associations are usually nonprofit corporations, and every association's declaration of covenants is recorded with the county where the lots are.

A candidate list, not a determination

Registries list associations by name and place, not by lot. The lookup shows how each candidate matched (subdivision name, ZIP code, city). Only the declaration recorded against the lot says for certain which association governs it; a title search finds it in the chain of title.

Questions

How do I find the HOA for my address?

Enter the address. In Texas and Utah the lookup searches the state HOA registry and lists the associations that match the address's ZIP code, city and subdivision. Anywhere, the declaration of covenants recorded against the lot names the association, and the county recorder holds it.

Who is the HOA for my address?

The association named in the declaration of covenants, conditions and restrictions (CC&Rs) recorded for the subdivision. Registries list the association and its management contact; the lookup ranks the candidates by how closely their names match the subdivision.

Is there a public HOA database?

Texas (management certificates filed with the Texas Real Estate Commission) and Utah (the Department of Commerce HOA registry) publish one; a few other states register associations too. Most states do not, so the recorded declaration is the reliable source.

Does every house have an HOA?

No. A lot is in an HOA only if a declaration creating one was recorded against it. No registered association in the ZIP code is a strong hint there is none, but not proof; associations sometimes fail to register.

How do I find the HOA payoff contact for a closing?

In Utah the registry record lists a payoff contact for closings. In Texas the recorded management certificate names the association's contact. The title company orders the resale certificate or payoff statement from that contact.
